Fluro Pink | Matisse Studio acrylic paint
Fluorescent Pink is a bright, vibrant colour that "lights up" under UV light – it transforms light from the UV spectrum into light that we can see in the visible light spectrum, making the color appear brighter than we might otherwise perceive it to be. It is manufactured with dyes encapsulated in a polymer matrix. For best results, it is recommended to apply the colour over a white background, as the colour is quite transparent (which allows the UV light to pass through the coating and make the most of the pigment) but also reduces opacity, especially when applied over a much darker colour. However, because fluorescent colours are based on dyes, they are not lightfast and will fade quite rapidly in comparison to the rest of the range. To improve durability, it is recommended to apply a protective layer of MM33 UV conservation varnish, which will block UV light from reaching the film. It is important to note, however, that the application of the varnish will stop the fluorescent "glow" effect due to the lack of ultraviolet (UV) light.
