Matisse Derivan - Proudly Australian Owned and Made

COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIP 2008

Matisse Derivan is an Australian owned family business. Our commitment is to support the Arts Community that supports us.

To do this we sponsor a number of arts related projects. These include:

South Australian Face Painters

Snowman

The South Australian Face Painters held an extremely successful face-painting event sponsored by Matisse Derivan. One of the purposes of the evening was to introduce new face painters to our glitter gels, safe for use on children's faces, in order to stop the use of Kindyglitz on children's faces.

In this image the snowman has been painted by face-painting artist 'Wendy Fantasia' who has used our silver glitter gel.

Coonamble arts alive

Coonamble Arts Alive

Matisse Derivan sponsored the Coonamble Arts Alive Society's High School Art Prize in September 2008. This is Abby Regan's winning work, 'Toy Soldier' chosen from many entries of extremely high quality.

The interest our sponsorship created has prompted Coonamble Arts Alive to invite all other Coonamble schools to bring their students to preview the work during the day of the opening for all future exhibitions.

Each visiting student will be eligible to take part in the overall 'popular vote'.

Picasso Cows - a Mooving Work of Art

Cambe-anne

Primary school students are discovering agriculture and environmental awareness through art, aided by this exciting dairy industry program.

A total of 10 primary schools, from Corrimal near Wollongong to Cambewarra near Shoalhaven, are involved in the preliminary stage of the project. Each school received a life-size fibreglass cow which the children have decorated with donated art materials from Matisse Derivan.

At left, "Cambe-Anne" from Cambewarra Public School, the 'Clean Water' Champion.

Below, "Little Miss Sunshine," from Kiama Public School, the 'Energy Efficient Dairies' Champion'.

The Picasso Cows Project includes a strong focus on eco-sustainability with children decorating their four-legged artworks with environmental messages based on themes of clean water, healthy landscapes or energy-efficient dairies.

Watch for the painted cows becoming the stars of the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Starlight Children's Foundation

Starlight Foundation

Starlight Children's Foundation exists to support seriously ill children and their families. By providing Derivan Face and Body Paints for use by Captain Starlight and his teams of helpers, we support them throughout Australia.

Captain Starlight is a superhero whose purpose is to bring laughter, games, magic and all kinds of fun activities into the lives of sick children.

In hospitals around Australia, Captain Starlight and his teams can be found delighting children in Starlight Express rooms in seven major paediatric hospitals.

As well, Captain Starlight pilots the Starlight Express Van, taking our paint to sick kids in regional and outer metropolitan areas and bringing smiles and laughter to as many children and their families as possible.

These photographs have been kindly provided by the Starlight Children's Foundation.
